Samantha Kent

Director/Early Childhood Teacher
Bachelor of Teaching - Early Childhood
Forest School Leader Qualification

I have been working in the field of early childhood education since 1995.

I firmly believe that learning should be a joyful, organic process that is driven by a child’s natural curiosity and passion for exploration. By harnessing children’s innate desire to learn and creating a supportive learning environment, I strive to foster creativity, resourcefulness, and agency in my students.

My approach involves nurturing relationships, promoting un-hurried play, and building a desire to question, reflect, and learn. I firmly believe that building strong connections with both children and families is essential in fostering an environment of respect, trust, and belonging.

Through these meaningful relationships, I am able to better understand the unique needs and interests of each child, and tailor my teaching approach to ensure they receive the best possible support and guidance. Ultimately, I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and thrive.

As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, I am deeply respectful of individual backgrounds, cultures, and customs, and seek to instil in children a sense of respect for themselves, others, the environment, and the wider community. I am excited to continue my work with young learners and their families, and to play a role in shaping their bright futures.

Diploma of Children's Services

I have been working in Early Childhood since 1998.

My focus is on helping children “just be” – to be amazing, kind, safe, and active learners who are confident, respectful, and engaged in the world around them.

Through play-based learning and exploration, I encourage children to develop their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills. I also believe that learning should be fun and meaningful, and I strive to create a learning environment that is engaging, nurturing, and supportive.

My goal is to help children develop a positive sense of self, a love of learning, and a deep connection to the world around them. I am excited to work with your little ones and to help them become the best versions of themselves!

It brings me great joy to witness children’s curiosity, sense of wonder and adventure as they learn and explore the world around them. Hello, my name is Tricia, and I am an early childhood educator. I hold a strong belief that every child is unique and special, and I strive to honor their individuality by valuing and nurturing their unique strengths, skills, abilities, and knowledge to help them reach their full potential.

One of the things that sets me apart as an educator is my personal experience with autism. As an adult with autism, I have developed a high level of patience and compassion for all children, and I approach my work with a deep understanding of the diverse needs and experiences that children bring to the learning environment.

I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that encourages children to explore, experiment, and take risks in their learning. I believe in fostering a positive and respectful relationship with each child, building trust and rapport as we work together to achieve their individual learning goals.
